The Website is Somewhere

12.December.2011 - Posted by Zac

We have receieved a number of inquiries regarding the apparent non-existence of the archives page, and we do not know what is wrong. At some point it got eaten by something and we don't know how to get it back. We're in the process of figuring out if we want to switch to GoogleSites, or to some other content manager, but finals, as you may have found out, takes its toll, and the holidays will no doubt be waiting next in line.

Happy finals week to everyone studying. Try and get some sleep, and, as always, avoid zombification unti the last possible moment.

There is No News and Other Stories

20 June 2011 - Posted by Zac

Well, we're sort of reaching the midpoint in summer and there's been no update on last semester. This is partly because school is a cruel tyrant, and even if you were like Cody and put off all your work and left it to the very last minute, "school" has a way of catching up to you and extracting its vengeance. But Cody finished high school, and the rest of us survived college, and as the dust settled we realized there hasn't been much FUN in a long, long time. League of Legends breaks from homework definitely do not fill the void in our souls. Teddy's thinking of uninstalling, and the rest of us are scheming some new thing to do that doesn't involve dependence on a fragile internet provider

But the fact that there's no news is the point of this story. In the endless up and down of life, we find ourselves out of energy these days, and the vague plans of a website facelift or store section for T-shirts or a new logo remain vague. Although, in two months, we have our two-year anniversary, so something might have to happen then

In the meantime, MTG Commander is sort fo the new buzz, seducing even Shaw to try his hand at general-lead singleton.

What Might Be Going On Soon

5 Jan 2011 - Posted by Zac

So for those of you who still read this section, you will no doubt have noticed (probably some months ago) that all of the old archives of newsposts are gone, and an explanation of that can be gotten by reading the newspost before this one.

I am posting to let everyone know two things.

First, we're receiving more views, subscriptions, and hits than we have ever received before. In the last two months, we've gotten more views than we got if you combined every OTHER month this website has been up. That's really awesome, and I guess that means that you guys are really awesome! Woo!

Second, and on that note, our website is NOT that awesome, and we are aware of this. We've been aware of it for a long time, so I'm glad to say that we have been talking about a facelift. I don't know when that's going to happen, but it's definitely around the corner, so stay tuned!

We've been meeting a lot lately and talking about plans for new features and things for next year, and there are big plans, grandiose plans! But more I cannot say.

We hope to see what you think of them.

Things Happen, and I Don't Know Why

23 Aug 2010 - Posted by Zac

I found myself sitting in a bank, of all places, waiting for student loan stuff to go through, and making chit chat with the teller. "You always think something's going to take a certain amount of time," I stated, "and you never think anything is going to go wrong." Flashback one week or so. It's 9PM on Sunday, and I log on to the website to do the weekly update, and what should be staring me in the face but,

"Welcome to your new website! Click here to get started!"

Turns out one of our guys was doing maintenance at the server level, and ended up wiping the database. Those of you who were around and saw last week's comic were afflicted by me, explaining the situation briefly, in very un-humorous words. My massive apologies go out to everyone who had to be present for that. I was particularly grieved because we had been working hard all week to re-do pages and get the strategy center fully operational, but all that data was lost. Comics earlier than today's actually got their mouseover text erased, so that's something else to go back to.

All that said, the Strategy Center should be going up sometime this week. At this point it is merely an assembly of the basics, but these are powerful basics, solid foundations of diligently laid rock on which to build your temple of Pro-ness. Look forward to it when we put it up this week, and watch as it continues to grow.

So everything's basically been a total mess with everything else, as I should just accept in so long as life continues about this way. But we haven't given up, and we're very glad you haven't. More fun next week, in the meanwhile, we're working hard to keep this place functional. Thanks for staying tuned!

New Horizons

You know how these things are: you look at something and you know there was a point in your life where that thing wasn't present, but for the life of you, you can't picture exactly how that must've looked. Once I described cube drafting that way, but now it seems that this comic has itself fufilled those words.

Last week (August 3d, specifically) was BecuzWeCan's first anniversary. I'm not going to make too big a deal of this, because there are a billion crappy webcomics all over the internet who've been posting tirelessly and have amassed more time than that. I will not presuppose greatness, because true greatness doesn't need to announce itself. That said, the things we do here aren't part of that description by any means, but far from being downcast I am instead full of a kind of swelling optimism. The last year has had some laughs, I think, and some real moments approaching excellence. That's good. We'd like to do another year of it, and however many more we can find the time to do. We return to the basic thesis: this our lives. If we can document them and let the rest of the world laugh along with us, there are that many more smiles in the world. That's what this is all about, really: you, dear reader. Thanks for being here every Monday, we live for it.

You may also have noticed that we've switched to a new website. My request is that you bear with us, as there is still a great deal of stuff to sort through and work out. We are trying to have it all up by next Monday's update, compiled for your convenience. The Strategy Center is the newest feature, by which we'll be able to link you to the best guides, videos, and resources this internet has to offer to the potential strategist.

In the meantime, it's good to see you; been a long year. We hope to see you next August, but until then, next Monday will have to do.
